Use TwinNumber with Robinhood.
Investing with Robinhood? Keep a real U.S. mobile number on your own account for the codes that confirm sign-ins and changes. Identity verification is separate and still applies.

What Robinhood uses your number for
- SMS codes as one way to verify it's you when you log in or change account details.
- A one-time SMS code that confirms a new phone number before the change takes effect.
- Changing your email: Robinhood lets you do it only with access to this number.
Add your TwinNumber on Robinhood
- 01
Open Personal Information
In the app, tap Account > Menu (3 bars) > Settings > Personal Information > Phone number. On the web, go to Account > Settings > Phone number.
- 02
Enter the new number
Type the new number; on the web, select Save.
- 03
Verify it
The change takes effect only after you enter the one-time code Robinhood texts to the new number.
Why the line type matters
Brokerages often check whether a number is mobile, landline or VoIP before sending a code, and many turn VoIP numbers away. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.

Who can open a Robinhood account?
Robinhood's U.S. brokerage accounts require a valid Social Security number, a legal U.S. residential address and U.S. citizenship, permanent residency or a valid U.S. visa. A U.S. phone number doesn't change that, and Robinhood verifies your identity with your own details.
My old number no longer gets codes. How do I get back in?
Open the app, select I need help, then I forgot my password > Send text instead, then I need help again > Verify with selfie and/or ID instead. Once you are back in, update the number in Settings.
Do I have to use SMS?
No. Robinhood also offers device approvals on your trusted devices and, on iOS, passkeys. Keep your number current anyway: it is how Robinhood confirms changes such as a new email address.
Is TwinNumber affiliated with Robinhood?
No. We test our numbers with popular services and publish the results. Robinhood is a trademark of its owner.
What if a code doesn't arrive?
Request a new code, then check your inbox and notification settings. If it keeps failing, contact us and we'll look into it.
