What Wellfound uses your number for
- The phone number on your profile, or in your reply to a pitch, goes to a company that moves you into its Ashby ATS.
- Recruiters using Wellfound Reach see the phone numbers Reach has for you once they shortlist you.
- Two-factor sign-in codes come from an authenticator app you set up, per Wellfound's help.

Why the line type matters
Freelance and job platforms often check whether a number is mobile, landline or VoIP before sending a code, and many turn VoIP numbers away. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.
Why banks reject Google Voice →Questions
Does Wellfound send two-factor codes by SMS?
Wellfound's help only describes a 6-digit code from an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or Duo, not text messages. If you lose the app, use the recovery codes you downloaded, or email talent@wellfound.com.
Does a U.S. number mean I can work in the U.S.?
No. Your profile preferences have a separate U.S. work authorization setting, and it should be accurate. The number is only how companies reach you.
Why is Wellfound asking me to verify my identity?
Wellfound's Trust and Safety team may ask selected users to verify with MetaMap, which accepts government-issued IDs from any country written in Latin characters.
Do I need to live in the U.S.?
No. TwinNumber works from 150+ countries with just a browser and an internet connection.
Is TwinNumber affiliated with Wellfound?
No. We test our numbers with popular services and publish the results. Wellfound is a trademark of its owner.
What if a code doesn't arrive?
