Do I need a verified phone number to send proposals on Upwork?
Upwork may ask you to verify your phone, with a code by SMS or call, when you take actions like submitting a proposal. It says this helps reduce scams, spam and fraud on the marketplace.
Does Upwork accept VoIP numbers?
No. Upwork's help says it can't verify VoIP numbers and asks for a non-VoIP number instead. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.
Should I rely on SMS alone for Upwork two-step verification?
Upwork recommends setting up more than one two-step verification method, so losing one of them doesn't lock you out of your account.
