Messaging apps often check whether a number is mobile, landline or VoIP before sending a code, and many turn VoIP numbers away. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.

Can I use KakaoTalk with an internet phone number?
No, to prevent spam KakaoTalk does not allow virtual numbers or internet phone numbers. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.
Why does KakaoTalk ask for my previous phone number?
To stop others from logging in with your Kakao Account on a new device. Kakao cannot tell you the number, and without it your friends list and KakaoTalk ID cannot be restored.
Will KakaoTalk always text me a code?
Not always. KakaoTalk picks a verification method for each user, and it may ask you to send a verification text from your number instead.
Do I need to live in the U.S.?
No. TwinNumber works from 150+ countries with just a browser and an internet connection.
Is TwinNumber affiliated with KakaoTalk?
No. We test our numbers with popular services and publish the results. KakaoTalk is a trademark of its owner.
What if a code doesn't arrive?
