Open Security
Click the You icon in the top-right corner, then Security under Settings. Admins go to Settings > My profile.

Edit Text message
In the 2-step authentication section, click Edit next to Text message and update the number Gusto sends your codes to.
Why the line type matters
Payroll and HR platforms often check whether a number is mobile, landline or VoIP before sending a code, and many turn VoIP numbers away. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.

Gusto's text codes aren't arriving. What can I do?
Tap Resend and give it a couple of minutes. Gusto recommends an authenticator app as your main 2-step method, since it doesn't depend on text delivery.
I lost my phone and have no 2-step method left. How do I get back into Gusto?
Gusto can verify your identity through its partner Persona with a government photo ID and a selfie. If that doesn't work, contact Gusto support.
Can I use Gusto as a contractor outside the U.S.?
Yes, if a U.S. company adds you as a non-US contractor. You click Get started in the welcome email from Gusto and set up your profile with your home country's tax ID.
Do I need to live in the U.S.?
