What Amazon uses your number for
- Registration asks for your phone number, with country code, next to your ID and business details.
- Two-Step Verification guards every Seller Central sign-in, with codes by text, call or authenticator app.
- Setup also asks for a backup method, so a lost phone does not lock you out.
Add your TwinNumber on Amazon Seller Central
- 01
Open Login Settings
In Seller Central, go to Settings, then Login Settings.
- 02
Edit Two-Step Verification
Select Edit next to Two-Step Verification (2SV) Settings.
- 03
Change the number
Select Change next to the phone number, enter the new one and type the code Amazon sends.
Why the line type matters
Marketplaces often check whether a number is mobile, landline or VoIP before sending a code, and many turn VoIP numbers away. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.

Do I need a U.S. number to sell on Amazon?
Amazon's registration guide asks for a phone number with its country code; it doesn't require a U.S. one. A TwinNumber gives you a U.S. mobile number you can read in your browser from wherever you run the business.
What if I lose access to my Two-Step Verification phone?
Sign in with the backup method you set up, such as a second number or an authenticator app. Without one, Amazon's Two-Step Verification account recovery asks you to verify your identity before you can sign in again.
Can I use an authenticator app instead of texts?
Yes. Seller Central can deliver codes by text message, phone call or authenticator app, and you can keep your phone number as the backup method.
Do I need to live in the U.S.?
No. TwinNumber works from 150+ countries with just a browser and an internet connection.
Is TwinNumber affiliated with Amazon?
No. We test our numbers with popular services and publish the results. Amazon Seller Central is a trademark of its owner.
What if a code doesn't arrive?
Request a new code, then check your inbox and notification settings. If it keeps failing, contact us and we'll look into it.
