What Meow uses your number for
- Meow's terms say its texts can include one-time login and verification codes, security alerts and payment notifications.
- Meow's help center says two-factor authentication uses an authenticator app and SMS-based 2FA is not available.
- Meow asks you to update your contact information when you change numbers, so texts never reach a reassigned number.

New phone? Reset 2FA
If you also lost your authenticator app, support resets 2FA after a Plaid check with a photo of your ID and a selfie, then you scan a new QR code in your account settings.
Why the line type matters
Banks often check whether a number is mobile, landline or VoIP before sending a code, and many turn VoIP numbers away. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.

Will Meow send my 2FA codes by SMS?
Meow's help center says SMS-based 2FA is not available for security reasons, so you use an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, with one 2FA device at a time. Its terms of service do say its texts may include one-time login and verification codes, so keep your number current either way.
Can I open a Meow account without an SSN?
Yes. Meow needs an EIN, your formation document, a valid passport and proof of business ownership and activity, and it supports businesses and individuals from 180+ countries. Meow still verifies your identity; a phone number never replaces that.
Do I need to live in the U.S.?
No. TwinNumber works from 150+ countries with just a browser and an internet connection.
Is TwinNumber affiliated with Meow?
No. We test our numbers with popular services and publish the results. Meow is a trademark of its owner.
What if a code doesn't arrive?
Request a new code, then check your inbox and notification settings. If it keeps failing, contact us and we'll look into it.
