What Bluevine uses your number for
- The Business Checking application asks for a mobile number that can receive SMS and checks it with a code.
- Signing in from a new device or making a sensitive profile change asks for a text code or an approval in the Bluevine app.
- Changing that verification number takes an email check, an identity check and a code sent to the new number.
Add your TwinNumber on Bluevine
- 01
Open Sign In & Security
In a web or mobile browser (not the Bluevine app), go to Profile > Sign In & Security and click Edit next to the number.
- 02
Confirm the current number
Approve a push notification or enter an SMS code. If you've lost the old number, click Update phone number on the sign-in screen instead.
- 03
Verify email and identity
Click Verify email now in the email Bluevine sends, then enter the identity details it asks for.
- 04
Add the new number
Enter the new mobile number, type the code sent to it and click Verify and finish.
Why the line type matters
Banks often check whether a number is mobile, landline or VoIP before sending a code, and many turn VoIP numbers away. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.
Why banks reject Google Voice →Questions
Does Bluevine work with Google Voice?
Bluevine says its verification does not work with call forwarding or Wi-Fi-only calling such as Google Voice. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.
Can I open a Bluevine account if I live outside the U.S.?
You need a U.S.-registered business. U.S. applicants give an SSN; applicants living in a supported country give passport details instead and can open accounts for LLCs, corporations and partnerships, with some features limited. Bluevine still verifies your identity; a phone number never replaces that.
Do I need to live in the U.S.?
No. TwinNumber works from 150+ countries with just a browser and an internet connection.
Is TwinNumber affiliated with Bluevine?
No. We test our numbers with popular services and publish the results. Bluevine is a trademark of its owner.
What if a code doesn't arrive?
Request a new code, then check your inbox and notification settings. If it keeps failing, contact us and we'll look into it.
