What Facebook uses your number for

  • Confirming your account with a code sent by text.
  • Logging in and recovering access if you forget your password.
  • Letting people who have your number find your profile, if you allow it.

    Open Accounts Center

Click your profile picture, then Settings & privacy, Settings and Accounts Center.

Why the line type matters

Social networks often check whether a number is mobile, landline or VoIP before sending a code, and many turn VoIP numbers away. TwinNumber numbers are registered as mobile.

Questions

Can people find me on Facebook by my number?

Facebook has a setting that controls who it can suggest your profile to based on your phone number, so you decide.

Does the number also go on Instagram?

Only if you choose it: when you add a number in Accounts Center, you pick which of your accounts it is added to.

The confirmation text never came. What now?

Check that the number is typed correctly and resend the code, or confirm with your email address instead.

Do I need to live in the U.S.?

No. TwinNumber works from 150+ countries with just a browser and an internet connection.

Is TwinNumber affiliated with Facebook?

No. We test our numbers with popular services and publish the results. Facebook is a trademark of its owner.

What if a code doesn't arrive?

Request a new code, then check your inbox and notification settings. If it keeps failing, contact us and we'll look into it.
